Basic Pistol - 5 Hours

Basic Pistol is designed for officers to improve their handgun skills and refresh their handgun safety. The course starts with a review of handgun safety and the fundamentals of properly and safely employing their handgun. Each officer will participate in drills to build their handgun skills and the course is concluded with a practice firearms qualification.

Advanced Pistol - 8 Hours

This two day advanced pistol course is designed for officers looking to improve their pistol skills at speed in a variety of conditions. This course focuses on advancing the officer’s skills through repetition and testing their abilities through dynamic drills simulating real life scenarios. The skills taught and tested include:

 

  • Safety

  • Mindset

  • Employing your weapon

  • Manipulation of your firearm

  • Speed shooting

  • Engaging a threat

  • Multiple threats

  • Strong hand/weak hand firing

  • Use of cover

 

The format of the class follows a skill review and coaching followed by exercise format.

Basic Rifle - 5 Hours

Basic Rifle covers the fundamentals needed for officers to safely and effectively employ their rifle. In the classroom instructors cover safety and the fundamentals of operating and manipulating a rifle. The course then moves to hands-on exercises to employ these fundamentals and to hone their shooting technique and marksmanship. The course ends with a practice firearms qualification.

Advanced Rifle - 8 Hours

This two day advanced rifle course is designed for officers looking to improve their rifle skills at speed in a variety of conditions. This course focuses on advancing the officer’s skills through repetition and testing their abilities through dynamic drills simulating real life scenarios. The skills taught and tested include:

 

  • Safety

  • Mindset

  • Employing your weapon

  • Manipulation of your firearm

  • Speed shooting

  • Engaging a threat

  • Multiple threats

  • Strong hand/weak hand firing

  • Use of cover

 

The format of the class follows a skill review and coaching followed by exercise format.

Fighting from a vehicle – 8 Hours

This class teaches officers how to use and manipulate their vehicle in specific ways to safely mitigate a threat. Officers will learn how to move around the vehicle and use different parts of the vehicle to increase their safety and the proper techniques of employing their firearm in these positions. Officers will then be placed into various positions in and around a vehicle and will be asked to make decisions in a stressful environment, testing these skills and providing teaching opportunities.

Tactical application of Constitutional Policing - 8 Hours

The TACP class is designed to help officers directly apply constitutional rules to everyday policing situations. This course is taken from recent events in today’s headlines. It not only refreshes what officers may have learned in the academy but it emphasizes constitutional mistakes commonly found in use of force incidents.

Advanced Firearm Tactics and Weapon Selection – 8 Hours

Law enforcement is becoming more versatile with regards to our choice of weapons. This course is designed to sharpen the officer’s selection of weapons based on the following criteria:

Level of resistance

Level of injury to the suspect

Level of effectiveness

Possibility of collateral damage and injuries

Ballistic penetration and carry through

Appropriateness on multiple deployments

Un-escalation, The Art of Words – 8 Hours

Often in times of stress, people actually listen to an officer’s words. It is these times that the words used, become very important. “Un-escalation, The Art of Words” shows officers not only what they say, but the way in which they say it, can elicit dangerous reactions. This course covers communication skillsets that are more productive in every day interactions. It also covers when words and behaviors change the very level of a contact constitutionally, by 4th Amendment protections. This course is a precursor to de-escalation because de-escalation indicates tempers are already elevated.

The Peacemaker Mindset – 8 Hours

The Peacemaker Mindset is a class that describes the thought process which emboldens the officer’s mind on the actions of fair and equal policing strategies. It covers the one thing that the officer has control over. Their mind and the actions formulated by their mind. This course covers the history of law enforcement. It covers hot topics like the Warrior mentality, and the Sheepdog mentality. It discusses administrative problems and their effects on an officer’s career longevity. The course explores the affects of peer pressure and diversity. It creates an environment to reflect on what you have done and what you want to do. It also probes into external relationships with friends and family.

Use of Force as a Rule, Breaking Old Paradigms – 8 Hours

This course dissects the Force Continuum and what it means. The course also explores new approaches to how force is evaluated and delivered. The force continuum is still prevalent in law enforcement however is it time to re-evaluate its efficacy or is it time to evaluate its effectiveness? This course also takes a detailed look at recent uses of force wherein the force continuum may have been used correctly but may have resulted in a negative ending.

Warrant Execution - 5 Hours

Warrant execution allows the officers to learn to work as a team to understand their individual impact in high risk environments. Regardless of initial risk on a call, each officer executes specific tasks and operations – this course enables officers to understand what part they play when entering high risk environments and how to operate safely, both individually and as a team.
